Akia watched as the two girls left, admiring Akemi’s fast thinking. She gracefully reclaimed her seat, looking to her close friend to explain.

Cor nodded his head, even though he had not known these people for long, he did trust their judgement. If they thought Noah would be able to help them on their mission, he believed that he would. Tobias had also said that he was a sailor, an exceptional one at that. It would come in handy.

Akia had forgotten whether or not they had been formally introduced, she presented herself and Cor to Noah, then waited for Cor to continue.

He picked up immediately where she had left off, telling the new addition to their group about the need to stop the pirates once and for all. He also told him about the pair’s odd natures.

“So,” he asked hopefully at last, “do you want to help?”

Akia had been barely present in the conversation; she watched the door where Clara and Sana had left, just in case they happened to return. This wasn’t something she was sure they should hear right now.

Akemi bit down on her lip nervously. She didn't think he wouldn't agree, but she wasn't sure. Her eyes flickered to him, practically watching the thoughts in his head. It was one thing Akemi could do to make a person feel nervous. And half the time she had no knowledge of doing it.

Tobias was just as nervous as Akemi. Noah's previous encounters with pirates weren't plesant ones and his brother was unsure of his decision as well. "Please." Was all Tobias could say. "This isn't just for us." And that was true. The whole town needed this.

Noah looked gravely at each and every person at the table. Nodding once, he said, "It would be an honor to help." Before anyone could even breathe a sigh of relief, Clara wrapped her arms around him in a crushing embrace. "Please don't, Noah, oh please don't!"

Akemi was shocked. She glanced back to the door finding it swung wide open. Somehow, Clara was eavesdropping. She looked over to little Sana, who was seated at a table with a bowl of ice cream, eating happily. At least she still doesn't know. Akemi looked at poor Noah, who was just as surprised as the rest of them.

Tobias felt his face flush angrily. It was no secret he often thought Clara's adoration for his brother got in the way of important matters. "Clara..." his tone was threatening. "let Noah go." She firmly shook her head. "Not unless Noah won't go." Noah shot an apologetic glance at his brother. Akemi spoke as soothing as she could. "Clara..." "No!" This was going to be a battle.

With a sigh, Noahleaned down so he was her height. "Please, Clara? I'll be fine. It isn't going to be me alone, okay? Tobias, Akemi, Akia and Cor are going to help too. There's nothing for you to worry about." He gave her a quick hug and she nodded. "Okay... but promise you'll tell me whats happening? I'm ten years old, practically grown up!" Noah nodded, trying his best to hide a smile. "I promise."

Tobias and Akemi were yet again marvelled at Noah's negotiating skills.

Akia was surprised when she saw that the little girl, Clara, had somehow slipped past her. She shrugged; there was nothing she would be able to do about it now.
Akia was relieved that Noah would be with them; they needed all the help that they could get. She wondered if that meant Clara too. Noah had promised to tell her -which was perfectly fine with Akia, she had not thought that they could keep a secret form the whole family- and when she found out, what would she do?
The quest would be dangerous, and if the little girl was anything like her friend Rennée, she would insist on going with them. Forcefully if it came to it.

“I hate to interrupt,” Cor began, “but the meeting will be taking place in a couple hours, if there is a last minute things you need, then we should get them. Though, for the assembly I don’t think that there is necessarily anything to bring.”

Tobias nodded and looked to Akemi. "The girls should probably head home." She nodded in agreement. Akemi turned to Clara. "Will you please take Sana home? We'll tell you everything that happens in the meeting, alright?" A bit glumly, Clara nodded. "Okay..." She turned on her heel and went to find Sana. Akemi watched the girls leave through the front door and head down the pathway home.

Tobias stood up, stretching his arms a bit. This was always the part he liked. Preparation. Though he watched Akemi hesitate to stand from her chair. She wasn't too sure. He knew she would do anything it takes to keep not just their town, but the world, safer, but her concern was with the children. Obviously having them walk home alone made her uncomfortable.

Cor stood up quickly, helping Akia to her feet. The two thanked Giovanni thoroughly before leaving with Akemi, Tobias, Noah, and the girls. He was eager to start, excitement rose in the pit of his stomach, bidding him to take a seat and wait out the events to come. He would have none of it. This feeling –Akia often referred it to feeling like butterflies– he had learned to love, to live on.

Akia charged out the doors after them, excited to begin a new adventure. As she waited for the rest to catch up, a thought hit her.

“Akemi,” she started hurriedly, “Cor and my belongings are at our inn. And we need to check out. Do you think that you or Tobias would be able to accompany us and show us the way to your place? We don’t have a lot to bring, so we won’t be too long.”

She squealed inside at the chance to tell the owner of the revolting place off once and for all. She would not ever go back there again.

Akemi smiled back at her. "We'd love to." Her eyes sparkled when Akia mentioned coming to their home. Her eyes flickered to Noah and he walked over briskly to them. "Noah," Akemi said hurriedly. "Please go catch up with the girls and kind of straighten up the house. I do believe we're having company." She watched as Noah smiled, tipping his hat respectfully towards Akia and Cor before turning to his heel, saying, "Sure thing! It'll be so clean, you won't even find a patch of dust anywhere!" And with that, he was gone running down the street to find Clara and Sana. Akemi had to admire his eagerness.

As the group headed through town, Tobias fell in step next to Akemi. "I don't know how you do it." He said, shaking his head quite a bit. "I can never get him to do anything around the house." He rolled his eyes and called out mock orders. "Noah, please fix the fence. Noah, help wash the dishes. Noah, put some oil on the hinges of the gate. Noah, I thought I told you to fix that fence!" Tobias crossed his arms in a pout. "And I just don't understand how you can ask him to do one little thing and he dashes off like the castle is being stormed!" That made Akemi nearly laugh out loud. Laying a hand on his arm, she said. "It's because you sound too much like an older brother." She smiled and looked to Cor and Akia. "Don't you think?"

Suddenly Tobias grinned again. "What're you giving him?" Akemi blinked back, confused. "Oh you know," Tobias smirked. He was just playing games with her again. "...whisky? Gin maybe?" Akemi's smile faded. "Nothing of the sort." She waved her hand in dismissal. It had bothered her that he had brought up Noah's...pastimes. It was something that their guests shouldn't have to hear. Akemi could only hope Noah would stay away from the bar while Akia and Cor stayed with them.

Then, a thought. "Perhaps," Akemi said, turning to Tobias, her voice light. "Perhaps what Noah needs is a wife." Tobias' experssion was no less than shocked. "H-he's only fourteen." "Oh, I know." She replied. "But she'll be someone closee to us." Akemi had to control her voice to keep from laughing. "And I'm sure Clara won't hesitate if you told her she was the ideal girl for him." All of the color drained from Tobias' face. "Look alive," Akemi told him. "Because we're at the inn. And if we have any trouble getting out, I elect you to go and fight for us if we need to."

Akia turned her head the other way, pretending that she did not hear about Noah drinking. For some reason that reminded her about her brother; who, much to her distaste, loved to indulge himself in the vile drink. Between him, Jared, and Sean she was sure they could make someone tipsy just looking at them. She was extremely glad that Cor had never gotten himself caught up in that mess, what with all his friends taking the ‘occasional’ one. Grimacing, she shook her head. Those boys.

Cor was pleased to be on the move again, it really did not matter where they were headed. For the past few years leisure time had been a vague dream, and now that it was obtainable it made him skittish. He always felt like there was something he should be doing, or someone he should be running from. Excitement had bubbled through him when he had been beseeched to go to this town. Pirates would give him something to occupy himself with. However, unlike Jared, he was not conceited; and though he had accomplished many things, this predicament was making him nervous. At least they would have the help of Tobias, Akemi, and possibly the others. Something told him that they would need it.

The inn looked desolate as they approached; almost forbidding. Wiping her hands on her dress, Akia quietly forced the door open. She really did not like this place and had never been able to call it home. As she slipped through, the dank air caught her with such force that she was forced to gasp for air. A terrible feeling came over her and she looked back for reassurance. Stepping cautiously over fallen bodies with as much grace as she could muster, Akia kept her eyes to the floor.

Even that was a mistake. A vile concoction of various liquids and grime coated it. Her hand shot up to her chest, and breathing hard she fought to block out the retched smells and atmosphere. Dimples formed at the corners of her mouth as she grimaced. Turning to Cor, her expression was one of loathing and question; why had they rented this? It was a place that only Raoul could speak well of.

All she could see was her brother laughing endlessly at her.

"Well this is lovely," Akemi grimaced as she held her breath. Each word said with a scathing sarcasm. "They really ought to clean this place up, granted I would not be too eager to volunteer..." Tobias guided her through the crowds and clouds of liquor. And all he could think of was at how glad he was that Noah went to more respectable bars.

With each nauseating step, Akemi tried her best to think of home. She let her mind wander out to the rickety place that was surrounded by the sea and landscape that she loved. She thought at once of the fresh air and grimaced. This place was worse than it had been a few hours earlier.

Tobias noticed her expression and leaned in to whisper in her ear. "Shall I go have a talk with the owner? Maybe they could do something about it." He had an emotion swimming in his eyes that Akemi couldn't place. Instead she just shook her head. "No. Besides I don't expect any one of us to be back here. And we all know your definition of 'having a talk' would be a blow to the jaw." Tobias shrugged, neither confirming nor denying this. He just followed closely behind Akia and Cor and helping Akemi through as well.

In a huff, Akia tapped an unconscious man with the toe of her boot, and sighing from the bottom of her heart, she leaned on Cor for support as he helped her step over. They continued like this for what felt like eternity; Akia shooting glares like daggers at the surrounding men, and Cor trailing along side. He looked placid enough, though Akia had known him for so long that she was certain beneath his serene and serious exterior, he was seething.

The fact that they had brought Akemi and Tobias to witness where they had panned to stay was utterly embarrassing to Akia, and as they fell through the door into the peculiarly quiet stair corridor, she felt her face begin to boil in a profound blush. Still leaning on Cor’s shoulder, she ushered the company up the stairs. She did not slow until they had arrived outside their rooms. Once inside, she fell heavily on the bed.

“Let’s not say a word about any of this. Cor, swear to me that you will not even hint to Raoul –or Ariel for that matter- about what just happened. NEVER.” Even the last statement seemed feeble, he voice shaking. Nevertheless, Cor nodded his head with undying sincerity.

“They’ll hear nothing from me.” He subconsciously bit his lip, letting his gaze travel the length of the room. “Akemi, if you wouldn’t mind helping Akia pack –I know she has more to gather that I- me and Tobias will head down to the owner to check out. Not that they’d care, running a place like this. I’m almost tempted to just leave.
“My things are already packed, and are just beneath the bed, Akia.” Akia pouted momentarily in response, only then recalling how he was always set to go at a moments notice.

Akemi nodded at Cor's instructions. Cheerily, she went to Akia's side and took a seat on the bed. "I'm so excited," she confessed in a whisper. Their earlier trek downstairs didn't seem to bother her much. "I can't even wait! Oh I just know you both will love our home. It's so much better than here. And I'm sure Sana will be overjoyed." She laughed, imagining her friend bouncing up and down. "But it will be so nice," She tried to surpress a grin. "to talk to a girl my age!"

Tobias was glad they would be leaving. Maybe someday he'd talk to the Mayor about this. Then he shook his head slightly to himself. The Mayor wouldn't do anything unless it threatened his office. Instead he turned his attention to Cor. "I don't think they'd care either. They would probably offer us a drink instead." He made a face. Drinking always reminded him of his father. Not someone he'd like to remember. Blinking a little, he returned to the present.
